Learning German

Hi guys! This weeks post will about my first class of German. Its finally here; I know I've been promising it for like 2 weeks now. I know I say this a lot but thank you so much for reading my blog and I hope you all enjoy it. So let's begin this weeks post...

So last Wednesday I did my first lesson of German and from what I've learnt so far its not as hard as want I thought it would be. I've been learning French for about 6 years and its still quite difficult even now. French is quite difficult because of like the silent letters and the accents where as with German once you've learnt how to say the vowels it would be quite easy. That's what my teacher says anyway. I'm really looking forward to learning it, I think it will be quite fun actually.

If you didn't already know, I'm from Yorkshire so I pronounce vowels flat and apparently that means its easier to learn for me since that's how vowels are pronounced in German. So I have an advantage over you all from the South so haha. I'm joking. My teacher says that we have an advantage but to be honest I think he's making it up.

Back to German. Before I tell you what I learnt, I'm going to apologize to everyone from Germany or speaks German if I get anything wrong.

So (I'm saying 'so' a lot today aren't I?) I learnt how to say Guten Tag which means good day/ hello and auf wiedersehen which means good bye. Also I know how to say wie geht which means how are you and gut , danks means fine, thanks. And finally I learnt all the vowel sounds.

I know that its not a lot but I only had my first lesson so (there I go again) I'm not going to know a lot. That's it for this week; I hope you all enjoyed it and I'll see you next week with my blog post about *drum roll* My monthly favourites! Sorry if you can tell I'm a bit down today but I've just lost my best friend of 11 years. By lost I mean she's got a new bff and has abandoned me, she hasn't died. See you next week!

Everyday Make Up Routine

This weeks blog post will be about my everyday make up routine and by everyday I mean the days I go to school or I'm going somewhere with my family or friends. I know on my post about the Royal Baby (go check it out if you haven't already) I said I would next write about Learning German but 20 minutes before my first lesson of it, I fainted so obviously I didn't attend it. Sorry about that. So let's get started with this weeks posts...

1) The first thing I do when I sit down in front of my dresser is apply moisturizer. I use which ever one I have been loving that month.
2) Next, I do 1 pump of L'OREAL True Match the fountain  in the shade Rosy Vanilla on the back of my hand and put it on my face (obviously) and blend with my fingers until it looks how I want it to look.
3)After my fountain is on, I apply my MAYBELLINE Super Stay, Better Skin concealer in the number 02 Light and pat that in also with my fingers. Normally I would use my brushes but stupidly I left them in the communal toilets when I went camping in North Yorkshire and I haven't yet replaced them.
4)Then I powder all over my face using L'OREAL True match the power in the shade Golden Sand.
5)Once I've done that, I bronze my cheek bones with the Makeup Academy bronze in the number 01.
6)Now I'm happy with the way my skin looks,  I move on to my eyebrows. I brush through my eyebrows and I use the MAYBELLINE Masterbrow in the shade Soft Brown to define and fill in my brows.
7) Then I move on to my eyes. I curl my lashes with my eyelash curler from Claire's and apply 3 coats of MAYBELLINE Rocket Volume Expert mascara in 001 Black onto my top lashes and then the Makeup Academy bottom lash mascara to my bottom eyelashes.
8) Finally, I move onto my lips. First I apply the L'OREAL Paris lipstick in the number 02 Innocent Pink all over my lips. Then I apply the Tanya Burr lip gloss in Afternoon Tea on top of the lipstick. I think these two lip products compliments each other and creates the perfect pinky- nude colour and it looks so pretty.

The Products
So that's what I do and I know it is quite a lot for school but if you new me you know that I need it.
Thank you for reading my blog, it means more than you'll ever imagine and I will see you next Monday with my next post which should be Learning German.

Royal Baby

If you haven't already heard the news, Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their second baby! This isn't really a blog post but I just wanted to congratulate Kate and  William and the rest of the royal family on the news. If you're not from the UK you probably don't care that much but since I am and I do care, I thought I'd share it with you all.
I hope you all had a nice weekend and see you on Monday with my next blog post called Learning German.

Making Ginger Buns

I baked some ginger buns on Sunday and decided to share with you how I did so. Before I start, I would like to thank everyone who read my last post and has check out my blog. I can't thank you all enough. Also write in the comments or tweet me at @missbeautypieb what you want to me to write about next. So lets begin...

What you will need:

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • Electric hand whisk or wooden spoon
  • 1 tablespoon
  • 1 teaspoon
  • 1 jug (or something to measure liquid with)
  • 1 baking tray/ bun tin
  • 9- 14 bun cases
  • 1 plate to put buns on after
Ingredients:
  • 500g of ginger cake mix (I used Wright's)
  • 200ml of water
  • 60ml of vegetable oil
  1. Firstly preheat your oven at 160-180c or 325-350f
  2. Then, put the cake mix in to your large mixing bowl and then gradually add some of the water.
  3. Stir until the mixture has a sticky texture and if not, add a bit more water until it is right.
  4. Next add 3 tbsp of vegetable oil to the mixture and stir well.
  5. Get you teaspoon and put a heaped spoon full of the mixture on the spoon and spoon into the bun tin/ baking tray.
  6. Once you have filled the bun tin/ baking tray, put in  your oven and cook for 10-15 mins.
  7. Take your buns out of the oven and enjoy!
Tip: if you still have mixture left over, why not bake a small cake?

I hope you all enjoyed these instructions and have a go baking these delicious buns.
